Life doesn't always take you where you think it will.
Discerning you life's mission isn't always as easy as it sounds.
HDAC knows this from experience. That's why we can help you .
Jeff and Debbie Hoffman didn't start out their life together in the nonprofit world. He earned a BA in mathematics and did production planning for an electronics manufacturer. She slowly worked on a degree for Social Work while working full time as a teacher's aide.
His passion, though, was archaeology and history. She found out hers was teaching children with Special Needs. She completed her degree in Special Education, he went back to college for a second degree in ancient history.
Before finishing his degree program, Jeff took a job at a museum that wanted him to raise money for a major expansion of its archives. Much to his (and Debbie's) surprise, the museum's campaign surpassed its goal within 12 months. Jeff was hooked on fund development.
Debbie began teaching at the primary and intermediate levels, but the secondary level was where she spent 24 of her 31 years in teaching. Meanwhile, Jeff's development career revolved around nonprofits. He found he had a special gift for starting development offices "from scratch," putting in place systems for social service agencies, a museum and small colleges. Today, all of the offices that he founded are still active and successful.
Debbie and Jeff founded HDAC in 2015. Their shared passion is to help small to medium-sized nonprofits grow and achieve sustainability. They have volunteered on many non profit boards and are constantly amazed by great work that small, dedicated groups of individuals can accomplish for their communities. Their combined 50+ years of training, fund development, board development, visioning, workshop presentations and creation of fundraising sustainability are available to your nonprofit through Hoffman Development Associates Consulting.
